MAHLE Aftermarket will be distributing starter motors, alternators and electric motors for heavy-duty, agricultural and industrial machinery under the MAHLE Original brand with effect from January 2016.
Following the 2014 acquisition of Slovenia-based component manufacturer for motor vehicle electric systems, Letrika, the integration of Letrika into the MAHLE family of companies also is expanding the MAHLE Aftermarket competence in this segment, AftermarketNews said.
As a result of the acquisition Letrika has been renamed MAHLE Letrika.
"Letrika has earned an excellent reputation for being a technologically innovative supplier of very high-quality products to the heavy-duty, agricultural and industrial markets," said Jon Douglas, general manager, MAHLE Aftermarket North America. "The quality, technology, construction and production that Letrika products are known for will remain unchanged."
MAHLE Aftermarket Inc. has announced it will be integrating the sales, marketing and distribution of Letrika aftermarket and OE products into its North American operations. The Letrika trademark will continue to be used until January 1, 2016. Beginning January 1, 2016 the Letrika brand of starter motors, alternators and electric motors will go to market under the MAHLE Original brand.
